1st grade / Division / Dividing objects / Divide into 5 groups
This topic teaches you to divide things - dividing is a way to share things equally. For example, if you have 15 blocks and you want to share them equally between 5 friends, you would divide the blocks into 5 groups each with 3 blocks in it.
In this topic you are asked to divide a certain number of shapes into 5 groups (that are the same size). In the first question you are shown a picture of 10 circles and you have to decide how many circles will be in each group if you divide the circles into 5 groups. When you look at the picture you will see that it must be 2 circles in each group. That is because
2 circles + 2 circles + 2 circles + 2 circles + 2 circles = 10 circles
This topic asks you to divide a bunch of shapes into 5 equal groups and say how many shapes are in each group.
